Dear RPACT Community,
We are pleased to invite you to save the date for this year’s RPACT Annual Meeting:
- Wednesday, 25 November 2026
- 13:00–16:00 CET
- Online meeting — further details and the agenda will follow
The Annual Meeting will provide an opportunity to share the latest developments within RPACT, discuss upcoming priorities, and exchange ideas and experiences with the RPACT community.
In the meantime, we would also like to share a brief update on our current activities.
RPACT Code
The first proof-of-concept projects for RPACT Code, our new AI-powered tool, have produced very promising results. We are excited about its potential to support users in working more efficiently with rpact and will share further updates as the project progresses.
Upcoming rpact 4.5.0 release
Following the summer break, we are planning a new release of the rpact package. Version 4.5.0 is expected to include several new features and enhancements:
- Fixed trial designs: The new
getDesignFixed()function provides a convenient way to create fixed, single-stage trial designs. - Patient-wise survival simulations:
getSimulationMultiArmSurvival()andgetSimulationEnrichmentSurvival()will support patient-wise simulations in addition to the existing test-statistic-based approach. This enables more detailed scenarios incorporating individual patient accrual, events, censoring, dropout, and maximum-subject constraints. - Configuration through environment variables: rpact options will be configurable through environment variables, supporting reproducible scripts, CI workflows, validation runs, and shared project profiles.
- Improved boundary displays: Critical values and futility bounds for designs with
directionUpper = FALSEwill be displayed consistently in the correct direction. - Fisher information calculations: The new
getFisherInformation()function will calculate the Fisher information at the first planned analysis stage for designs involving means, rates, or survival endpoints.
More information about the new environment-variable functionality is available in the vignette Hidden rpact Features: Options and Environment Variables.
We look forward to sharing more details about these developments and to welcoming you to the RPACT Annual Meeting in November.
Best regards,
The RPACT Team
